UHN Rehabilitation Solutions offers an innovative approach to Dominance Retraining.

Our Dominance Transfer Training program provides for a holistic and cognitive approach for retraining the dominant upper extremity. Regulated health care professionals provide this program.

UHN Rehabilitation Solutions' Dominance Transfer Training Program includes the following:

• Focuses on allowing an individual, who has had an injury to their dominant upper extremity, to transfer dominance to the non-dominant hand.
• Begins with a standardized screening process to ensure appropriate candidates are chosen for the program.
• Ensures proper sequencing of learning from proximal to distal control.
• Treatment program using adult learning principles.
• Typing training and other job simulations are incorporated dependent on job goal.
• Regular reporting is included in treatment program.
• Improvements in fine motor coordination, manipulation and hand writing are noted.
